Hypertension & Chocolate
Who knew that chocolate had so many attributes? Now it apparently can reduce your blood pressure. Yes, you heard right. Chocolate: fuel for romance, nectar of the cocoa bean, aphrodisiac to the masses, and now, hypertension fighter.
According to a German study that has made its way into a number of prominent research journals such as the American Heart Association, American Medical Association, chocolate can actually reduce blood pressure. More specifically, dark chocolate is the blood pressure buster.

Chocolate and Hypertension
And just like the saying says, it's what's inside that counts. In dark chocolate, flavenoids are the source of this idea. Flavenoids are natural anti-oxidants found in such foods such as red wine. Now apparently dark chocolate has it.
So where one glass of wine a day is said to be good, you only need to eat about one third of a dark chocolate bar to enjoy the heart saving benefits of the flavenoids found within. This little bit of chocolate helps relax your blood vessels, keep the walls somewhat supple, and diffuse the pressure building up over the years.
Now think of the possibilities all this leaves the consumer. Mixing wine and chocolate used to just be for a romantic night. Now you can go on a health kick too while enjoying dark chocolate in all forms. You'll end up more relaxed, healthier and with a lower blood pressure than if you went for some fancy white wine chicken a la king dinner. So go find a nice merlot, a pure, sweetened dark chocolate bar and let the good and healthy times roll.
